“This is the future of healthcare.”
If you’re a busy professional who has been putting your health last and is ready for a concierge medicine experience that doesn’t feel like a hospital, this was built for you.

I recently went in for the most intensive, comprehensive checkup I’ve had in years, and I have been telling everyone about it since.
In one visit at Lifewellness Institute, they covered everything: eyes, thyroid, abdomen, skin, hearing, heart, cardiovascular, treadmill, VO2 max, and a nutritionist consult. One physician knows your whole history, coordinates your care, and is actually reachable when you need them.
The space feels like a hotel healing wellness center, and when you’re not feeling well, that matters. As soon as I could eat after fasting, they brought me breakfast. If you spend your days taking care of everyone else, you need to take care of yourself too, so that you can take care of everybody else. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, check out Life Wellness Institute, located at Liberty Station in San Diego.

It Surprises Me When I Give Out My Cell Phone Number to Patients
The assumption is that patients will abuse that access…
But patients don’t call that much because they’re afraid they’re going to bother me. The truth is, it bothers me a lot more when they end up in the ER or have been stewing over something for days that I could have explained in two seconds and dealt with right then and there.
That direct line means small concerns get addressed before they escalate into bigger problems. Being reachable is simply part of the care. That’s why I do it. It’s easier on everybody, including me!!
These Patients Hurt More
Far Lateral Disc Herniation Explained
Why is a far lateral disc herniation particularly bad?
Because it presses upon the nerve at a location called the DRG, the dorsal root ganglion, where all the nerve cell bodies are. That area is ultra sensitive, which is why these patients often come in sitting on one side to unload the pain.
When surgery is needed, I cannot simply go straight down the middle. I have to go through the foramen, and if you do traditional open surgery, it gets bloody going that way. The endoscopic approach is perfect for this type of herniation. These are some of my happiest patients.
