Spine health isn’t just about building strength, it’s about muscle coordination, and the difference matters more than most people realize. For example: who can throw a ball further, Arnold Schwarzenegger or a skinny high school baseball pitcher? The pitcher, because even though he is not as strong, he can recruit all his muscles in a way that maximizes the force he needs to throw that ball as far as possible. That is coordination. One of the best things you can do, in addition to calisthenics, is go hiking on uneven ground where you have to walk uphill or downhill a little bit. All those different movements increase coordination. Follow for more on spine health, prevention and recovery.
