New O-Arm
Recently, we said goodbye to something special – the original O-Arm, the first in San Diego. It was a key reason minimally invasive spine surgery advanced the way it did. But progress isn’t about replacing something old. It’s about improving something great with something EVEN BETTER.
Introducing the New O-Arm
We are proud to announce the arrival of the newest generation O-Arm imaging system at the hospital.

What matters for our patients:
• Faster image acquisition
• Less radiation exposure
• Advanced stitching technology that combines two scans into one seamless view
• Ability to visualize longer sections of the spine without switching back and forth
For our team, this means greater efficiency.
For our patients, it means enhanced precision and safety.
We believe in CANI:
Continuous And Never-ending Improvement.
BECAUSE THAT’S HOW WE ROLL AROUND HERE!!

The Difference between LESS and a Microdiscectomy

Let’s break it down.
Microdiscectomy
is a great procedure. It has helped many patients over the years.
However, it typically requires:
• Removal of a small amount of bone
• Detachment of part of the multifidus tendon
• The multifidus muscle is extremely important.
It plays a key role in spinal stability and long-term back health.
LESS (Lumbar Endoscopic Spine Surgery):
• No bone resection
• No tendon detachment
• Minimal disruption of surrounding tissue
And in many cases, we don’t even use a traditional dressing. Just a small bandage.
Results:
Less disruption
Less trauma
Less recovery time
That’s the difference.
At Excel Spine, our focus is preserving what matters so your body can heal faster and function better.
SPINE SUMMIT 2026
Training Young Guns Endoscopic Spine Surgery

I had the most AWESOME cadaver lab last week at the big, beautiful Barrow Neurological Institute – one of the premier neurosurgical programs in the country.
And the best thing is, I really love working with the young, up-and-coming new generation of spine surgeons. Endoscopy is the future, and THEY are the future.
I can tell they really love endoscopy. Maybe it’s because they grew up playing more video games?! Combine that with the most awesome technique guide and teaching program,
Top Surgeon (www.Top-Surgeon.com), and the next generation is going to be unstoppable.
